How to play

  1. Five English words appear face-up with their pictures — tap any card to hear it, and memorise the set before the timer runs out.
  2. The cards flip face-down for a moment, then the words come back — but one of them is now missing.
  3. Compare what came back with what you memorised, and tap the word that disappeared.
  4. Get it right and the word is read aloud in a British voice; recall six words a round and aim for perfect recall.

How does it help me learn English?

Recalling which word disappeared forces you to actively retrieve the vocabulary from memory — a far stronger way to learn than just re-reading a list.
