How to play

  1. A cue (he / she, yesterday, I have, I am) and an irregular verb appear at the top.
  2. Five forms of that verb pop up from the holes. Tap the mole showing the form that fits the cue (for example, yesterday + go → went).
  3. A correct whack turns green and reads the form aloud; a wrong one shakes red and dents your accuracy.
  4. Conjugate six prompts per round, and aim to finish with no wrong whacks.

Questions

Which forms does this game practise?

The five forms of common irregular English verbs: the base form (go), the he / she form (goes), the past (went), the form after have (gone) and the -ing form (going).

Is this English verb game free?

Yes. It plays in your browser with no sign-up. Sign in only if you want to save the verb forms you practise to your review deck.

Why only irregular verbs?

Regular verbs add -ed for both the past and the form after have, so they are easy to mix up in the game. Irregular verbs have five forms that all look different, which is where learners need the practice.
