How to play

  1. Listen to the Spanish sentence — the meaning is shown above it, and tapping it plays it again.
  2. The words of the sentence are thrown up the screen out of order, mixed with a few from other sentences; the blanks show how many words are still to come.
  3. Drag your finger or mouse across the next word to slice it. A quick tap works too, and keys 1 to 4 slice the first to fourth word from the left.
  4. Slice a wrong word, or let the right one fall off the bottom, and you lose a heart. Slice the last word and you hear the whole sentence.
  5. Build two sentences before your five hearts run out. Pick A1, A2 or B1 on the start screen to match your level.

Questions

Is this Spanish sentence game free?

Yes — Word Rain plays in your browser, on a phone or a computer, with no sign-up. Sign in only to save the words you meet to your review deck.

What do A1, A2 and B1 mean?

They are the levels of the sentences: A1 for the shortest and simplest, A2 for everyday sentences with a little more grammar, B1 for longer ones. Start with A1.

What happens if I slice the wrong word?

You lose a heart and your streak resets, and the screen tells you which word came next. The right word keeps flying, so you can still finish the sentence.

Can I play without a touch screen?

Yes. Drag with a mouse, or press the number keys 1 to 4 to slice the first to fourth word from the left that is in the air.
