Aim and shoot

Chinese Next Word Archery.

Hear a Chinese sentence, then build it one word at a time: aim your bow and shoot the drifting balloon that carries the next word. A missed shot costs nothing; popping a wrong balloon costs a heart.

How to play

  1. Listen: a Chinese sentence plays, and its meaning is shown above the sentence. Tap the sentence at any time to hear it again.
  2. Four balloons drift slowly across the sky, each carrying a Chinese word. The sentence below the meaning shows the words you have built, a gap for the next one, and the rest still to come.
  3. Press anywhere on the board and drag to aim — a dotted line shows where the arrow will fly — then let go to shoot. On a keyboard, use the left and right arrow keys and the space bar.
  4. Pop the balloon with the next word of the sentence. A wrong balloon costs a heart and shows you the right word; the gap stays, so you can still fill it.
  5. An arrow that flies off the board costs nothing — shoot again. Build both sentences before your five hearts run out.
