How to play
- A sentence card with a blank falls down the board, with its translation underneath when you have one set.
- Decide which word fits the blank, and send the card to the HAY bin on the left or the ESTÁ / ESTÁN bin on the right before it lands.
- Use the left and right arrow keys (or A and D), tap a bin or the left or right half of the board, or swipe left or right.
- Right bin: the blank fills in and you score. Wrong bin, or a card that lands: you lose a heart, and the right word and the rule are shown.
- Sort all ten cards before your five hearts run out. Each finished sentence is read out loud.
Questions
Is this Spanish grammar game free?
Yes. Hay or Está Rush plays in your browser, on a phone or a computer, with no sign-up. Sign in only to save the sentences to your review deck.
What happens when I pick the wrong bin?
You lose a heart and your streak resets. The card fills in with the right word and a one-line rule, and then the next card falls.
How long do I have for each card?
A card takes about nine seconds to fall at the start, and only a little less as the round goes on, never under six seconds. After each answer the game pauses briefly so you can read the rule.
Can I play without a touch screen?
Yes. Press the left arrow or A for HAY and the right arrow or D for ESTÁ / ESTÁN, or click a bin with the mouse.
