How to play
- A shop item appears on screen with its emoji. The price plays aloud automatically in Mandarin.
- Listen to the spoken price — e.g. '一块五' (yī kuài wǔ) — and use the keypad to enter the amount.
- Enter digits the cash-register way: for ¥1.50 press 1, 5, 0. The display updates as you type.
- Tap ✓ or press Enter to submit. Correct answers score 100 points. Three wrong answers ends the round.
Questions
Which prices are in the Shopping game?
Fifteen everyday items from Chinese shops: fruit, coffee, bread, tickets, clothing, books, and more — prices range from 五毛 (¥0.50) to 三十五块 (¥35).
How does the cash-register keypad work?
Digits shift in from the right, just like a real cash register. To enter ¥1.50 press 1, then 5, then 0. The display shows the amount building up.
Do I need to understand Chinese numbers to play?
That's exactly what the game teaches. Start by recognising 一块, 两块, 三块 and simple 毛 prices, then work up to compound prices like 十八块五 (shíbā kuài wǔ).
Is there a time limit?
No — Shopping is a relaxed, accuracy-focused game. Take your time to listen carefully and build the correct price on the keypad.
