Plinko word game

Spanish Word Drop.

Easy

Read the English clue, then choose where to drop the ball. It tumbles through the pegs and lands in one of four buckets, each labelled with a Spanish word. Land it in the right one to score. There is no timer, so take your time.

How to play

  1. Read the English word at the top — that is the clue.
  2. Four buckets sit along the bottom, each labelled with a Spanish word. Only one is the translation of the clue.
  3. Slide your finger or mouse along the top to choose a column (or use the arrow keys), then let go, click or press space to drop the ball.
  4. The ball bounces down through the pegs. Aim above the bucket you want: it usually lands there, but a peg can nudge it into the next one.
  5. Land it in the right bucket to score and hear the word spoken; land it in a wrong one and you lose a heart and try the same clue again. Clear all six clues before your five hearts run out.

Questions

Is this Spanish plinko game free?

Yes — Word Drop plays in your browser, on a phone or a computer, with no sign-up. Sign in only to save the words you meet to your review deck.

Is there a timer?

No. Nothing moves until you drop the ball, so you can read the clue and work out the word at your own pace.

What happens if the ball lands in the wrong bucket?

You lose a heart and your streak resets, and the bucket you hit is named next to the right answer so you learn the difference. The same clue stays, so you can try again, but it no longer counts as a clean clue.

Why did the ball miss the bucket I aimed at?

The pegs add a little chance to every bounce. A careful aim lands in the bucket you chose most of the time and never more than one bucket away, so a wrong landing is not always a wrong answer.

Can I practise one topic?

Yes. Use the theme picker to draw the words from a single category — animals, food, the home and more.
