Questions
What range does this French numbers game cover?
0 to 100 — every number, including the teens (onze, douze… seize), the tens (vingt, trente, quarante…), and the tricky ones: soixante-dix (70), quatre-vingts (80) and quatre-vingt-dix (90).
Is it free?
Yes — it plays in your browser with no sign-up, and reads each number aloud in a French voice so you learn the pronunciation. Sign in only if you want to save numbers to your review deck.
Why is 80 quatre-vingts in French?
French counts 70 as sixty-ten (soixante-dix), 80 as four-twenty (quatre-vingts) and 90 as four-twenty-ten (quatre-vingt-dix). From 21 to 61 the tens and a one are joined with et (vingt et un, trente et un), and with a hyphen otherwise (vingt-deux).
